NASA launches two space probes to the moon

NASA launched the Lunar Precursor Robotic Programspace probes, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) and the Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) on board the Atlas V rocket at 5:32 p.m.
scientists hope to be able to detect any water ice or vapor using the LCROSS satellite which will crash land nearby four minutes later

DRDO              (DEFENCE RESEARCH  & DEVELOPEMENT ORGANISATION) SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF PRITHVI-II MISSILE 4th october 2012 - Thursday  Surface to Surface, Ballistic Missile Prithvi-II, with a range of 350 Kms, was successfully flight tested at 9.10 A.M, from Launch Complex at ITR (Integrated Test Range), Chandipur in Balasore district of Odisha. The Dhanush missile can be used as an anti-ship weapon as well as for destroying land targets depending on the range   The DRDO developed Prithvi-II Missile is already inducted into the Armed Forces. The Strategic Force Command (SFC) has launched the Missile as part of exercise. The indigenously developed naval version of the Prithvi short-range ballistic missile has a strike range of up to 350 km and can carry 500kg of conventional or nuclear warhead welcome to our blog please send your suggestions .........
