Yahoo, one of the most renowned internet companies in the world, has announced it will close the public chats, Pingbox and voice calls to landline and mobile phones. The company has also decided to pull away its Yahoo Messenger from Microsoft's Windows Live. This was announced via posts on YahooMessenger Blog as well as on Messenger Help sections in Yahoo Help. In the blog post, Yahoo stated, "We're focused on building products that are beautiful and meaningful for our users. Sometimes, this means we have to make tough decisions — like closing down features that we feel aren't adding enough value for you. With this in mind, we have decided to discontinue several Yahoo! product features. This will enable us to refocus our efforts on modernising our core Yahoo! products experiences and of course, create new ones."
