Search giant Google is best known as an internet company. The company's mobile OS Android and range of web services and applications like Gmail and Google Apps only adds to the popular belief. 
However, there's much more to the internet giant than these. 

The company has been in the hardware manufacturing biz since 2002 when it launched its Search Appliance. Over the years, it has been bolstering its hardware offerings.

DRDO              (DEFENCE RESEARCH  & DEVELOPEMENT ORGANISATION) SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF PRITHVI-II MISSILE 4th october 2012 - Thursday  Surface to Surface, Ballistic Missile Prithvi-II, with a range of 350 Kms, was successfully flight tested at 9.10 A.M, from Launch Complex at ITR (Integrated Test Range), Chandipur in Balasore district of Odisha. The Dhanush missile can be used as an anti-ship weapon as well as for destroying land targets depending on the range   The DRDO developed Prithvi-II Missile is already inducted into the Armed Forces. The Strategic Force Command (SFC) has launched the Missile as part of exercise. Free roaming likely from March 2013

After announcing plans to abolish roaming charges for mobile users when traveling within India from next year, the telecom department is likely to ask operators to implement this consumer-friendly move from March.  Mobile phone companies have opposed the government's plans to do away with roaming charges, which accounts for about 10% of their revenues, and have warned they would be forced to increase tariffs to offset this loss.  According to an internal DoT note (dated November 23) reviewed by ET, the department has listed this consumer-friendly move amongst 'key initiatives to be completed within the next three months'.  By March, the department also wants to expand the mobile number portability (MNP) provision and allow consumers to retain their numbers when they move to a new city or any location in the country without having to pay roaming charges.
